Addiction Prevention Certificate

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Liffrig Family School of Education & Behavioral Sciences

Program Director: Dr. Kristi Bitz

The addiction prevention certificate includes coursework aimed at enhancing comprehension of substance use and behavioral addictions.  The included courses focus on preventing addictions through understanding the history of alcohol and drug use, counseling, and prevention, professional responsibilities in addiction counseling, trends and patterns of addictive disorders, prevention models, and how to implement and evaluate an effective prevention plan.

Students who do not wish to pursue a full bachelor’s degree may instead choose to pursue a non-degree certificate program. This program will result in the award of an undergraduate certificate on the student’s official transcript. Please note: this certificate program is not eligible for Title IV funding, and therefore students will not be able to apply federal financial aid funds toward the  completion of this certificate program.

This program is only available online.
