CTH 530 - Theory & Practice in CatholicStudies This class will examine the project of Catholic Studies as an innovative approach within the Catholic intellectual tradition. Arising out of the heart of the Church and developing from the works of such great thinkers as Newman, Dawson, and Briel, the project of Catholic Studies asks students to see growth in holiness tied to intellectual development and moral formation. By studying the ideas and practices that culminated in the project, students will take their place within this tradition by developing an interdisciplinary vision and a living practice of intellectual and spiritual friendship, both with their peers and with the thinkers whose ideas they study.
