MAT 180 - Elementary Statistics The study of descriptive statistics such as mean, mode, range, standard deviation, variance, histograms, etc., that describe statistical information. The study of inferential statistics such as hypotheses testing of a population mean, proportion, etc., using a sample drawn from the population or testing to see if the sample is representative of the population being studied.
