PHI 501 - Reading, Writing, & Argumentation This course helps students to develop the skills necessary to reason systematically, argue persuasively, write clearly, and communicate effectively. Students will sharpen their logical reasoning by engaging in practices such as summarizing, creating, defending, and critiquing arguments; preparing abstracts; identifying and charitably interpreting ambiguities; writing explanatory and critical essays; and employing appropriate structure, style, and references.
