CSD 720 - Neurogenic Communication Disorders I This course is the first installment in the sequence of acquired neurogenic communication disorders. Fundamental processes of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology will be discussed as they relate to cognition, language, and speech in adults with and without neurological impairments. Etiopathology and clinical presentation of aphasia, related aphasic syndromes, and acquired neuromotor speech disorders will be examined. Finally, principles and methods involved in the assessment, differential diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment of adults with neurogenic communication disorders will be evaluated.
