CSD 335 - Clinical Phonetics Students will learn concepts, terminology, and theory associated with clinical phonetics and phonology. Through a variety of hands-on, in-class activities, students will learn the International Phonetic Alphabet symbols and use the symbols to transcribe both typical and disordered speech. Students will classify both American English consonants and vowels. Students will also be introduced to a subset of the International Phonetic Alphabet diacritics for narrow phonetic transcription.
