Master of Divinity


The Master of Divinity degree program prepares men for priestly ministry in an apostolic age. The program encompasses the four dimensions of formation: human, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral.

Program will be offered beginning Fall 2026. Offered onsite at the University of Mary’s Phoenix Downtown location.

Admission Requirements

Requirements for acceptance into the Master of Divinity program are:

  • Official Transcripts for a conferred bachelor’s degree in philosophy or theology (or equivalent) from a regionally accredited institution. Degrees in philosophy, theology, Catholic Studies are preferred; those with degrees in other fields may be asked to demonstrate sufficient preparedness or related experience sufficient to indicate success in the program.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75
  • Either (1) a statement of sponsorship from a Roman Catholic diocese, archdiocese, or Roman Catholic religious community, or (2) two letters of recommendation (with one being from an instructor at the undergraduate level or higher) and a statement of good standing from an appropriate Catholic minister.

Greek Requirement


Completion of six credits of introductory/undergraduate Greek or successful completion of an exam demonstrating the same level of proficiency.

Latin Requirement


Completion of six credits of introductory/undergraduate Latin or successful completion of an exam demonstrating the same level of proficiency.
