Evangelization & Catechesis Certificate

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs of Study

The University of Mary’s Evangelization and Catechesis Certificate will equip students to proclaim the saving message of Christ’s love in an era of apostolic mission.  By reflecting on the Catechism of the Catholic Church, students will begin to master the teachings of the Church and become equipped to attract others to the beauty of Catholicism.

To help foster conversion of heart and mind, the certificate offers an opportunity to study key principles of evangelization and catechetical methods.  This certificate is directed to those in parish catechetical ministry including priests, deacons, catechists, youth ministers, and parish staff members - and to anyone who wants to be able to give an “account for the hope that is in you” (1 Peter 3:15).

This certificate can be completed with the Prayer & Spiritual Direction Certificate  and Sacred Scripture Certificate  in partial fulfillment of the Applied Catholic Theology, M.A.

Alternatively, students who do not wish to pursue a full master’s degree may instead choose to pursue a non-degree certificate program. This program will result in the award of a graduate certificate on the student’s official transcript. Please note: this certificate program is not eligible for Title IV funding, and therefore students will not be able to apply federal financial aid funds toward the completion of this certificate program if not completed as part of the full MA degree.
