The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) is a terminal degree designed for experienced business leaders, practitioners, and educators seeking to deepen their understanding of business practices and theory to drive innovation and solve complex, real-world challenges. Through rigorous doctoral research and coursework, students gain advanced industry knowledge and critical business insights, positioning them to lead with authority, contribute to the evolving body of business knowledge, and influence organizational success.

Admission Requirements

  • Official transcripts showing a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Application/enrollment fee - This will be collected at the time you fill out the online application.
  • Resume or curriculum vitae
  • Two letters of reference (include contact information as part of the application)
  • Comprehensive essay of at least 500 words that includes the following:
    • The purpose for pursuing a Doctorate of Business Administration
    • Reasons for choosing the University of Mary
  • Selected candidates will interview with the GTSB Faculty Admission Committee. After all admissions materials have been submitted and an interview has been conducted, an admissions decision will be made.

Program Requirements


Capstone:


  • 1-15 Semester Credit(s) repeated as needed until 15 credits are earned
  • 1 Semester Credit(s) * students must enroll in BUS 899 to complete the Final Research Defense if not completed in BUS 921. This course is not required for students who complete their Defense during BUS 921 enrollment.

Total: 54 Semester Credits


Program length: 3 academic years / 9 semesters / 144 weeks
