Radiologic Technology Major

Degree Types: Bachelor of Science (default) or Bachelor of Arts (alternative)

The two years of campus preparation for the Radiologic Technology program include courses in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and psychology as well as courses to fulfill competence requirements. Following the campus preparation, the student applies for admission to a hospital school for an internship. The 24-month clinical internship may be taken at CHI-St. Alexius School of Radiologic Technology, Bismarck, ND;  Sanford Health Systems Radiography Program in Bismarck or Sioux Falls, SD; Trinity Hospital School of Radiologic Technology, Minot, ND; Mayo School of Health-Related Sciences, Rochester, MN; St. Cloud Hospital School of Diagnostic Imaging in St. Cloud, MN;  Minneapolis VA Health Care System School of Radiologic Technology, Minneapolis, MN; or Avera Sacred Heart, Yankton, SD. 

A total of 60 semester credits will be granted for courses taken during the internship. Upon completion of the internship, the student is eligible to take the AART Radiographer’s Registry Examination to become certified as a Registered Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer.

Students are responsible for providing transportation to and from all clinical internship assignments and for personal living expenses throughout the clinical internship, regardless of location.

These immunization requirements supersede and replace all other immunization requirements listed in previous editions of the academic catalog and/or health science program handbooks (printed or digital).
