Chemistry Education Major


Program Director: Dr. James Peliska

Degree Types: Bachelor of Science (default) or Bachelor of Arts (alternate)

The Chemistry Education program offers a wide range of chemistry and education courses to prepare students for a career as a secondary teacher. Students majoring in this program will gain a broad knowledge base in the chemical sciences, learn to communicate effectively, and develop strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Through classroom and hands-on learning, the Chemistry Education bachelor’s degree program provides skills and experience you can apply directly to your career:

Major Requirements


Minimum grade of C- required for all courses in the major.

Upper-Level Chemistry Electives: Choose 3


For courses with a lecture & separate lab, both are required together to fulfill the course.
