Addiction Counseling Major

Degree Types: Bachelor of Science (default) or Bachelor of Arts (alternative)

Upon completion of the Addiction Counseling Program, students will be able to demonstrate competence in the domains listed below (adopted from the clinical training requirements by the North Dakota Board of Addiction Counseling Examiners Licensure Administrative Code).

  1. Screening and American Society of Addiction Medication Assessment (ASAM)
  2. Treatment Planning
  3. Service Coordination
  4. Client, Family, and Community Education
  5. Counseling Services
  6. Documentation
  7. Referral, Discharge, and Continuing Care
  8. Professional Ethics and Responsibilities

This program is only available online. Students must be admitted for fully online studies in order to declare this major.
