Degree Type: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The curriculum for the accelerated nursing students is the same as the traditional on-campus BSN program. The coursework is accomplished in a highly compressed timeframe with coursework being completed over a 16-month period. Students will begin the program at the beginning of the Spring term and will graduate the following Spring term. Because of the rigors of the program, accelerated nursing students will be required to have an admission GPA of 3.0, a minimum grade of “C” for each prerequisite course, and are highly discouraged from working during the program.
Admission Policy
Students accepted into the accelerated nursing program must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university and meet the admission requirements for the Nursing, Traditional Major . These requirements include:
- 3.0 GPA on a minimum of 23 credits on prerequisite courses.
- Grade of “C” or higher in each of the following nursing prerequisite courses and official transcript for transferred credits.

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at the University of Mary is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (https://www.aacnnursing.org/ccne-accreditation).
