For students pursuing a master’s degree from the Gary Tharaldson School of Business, this certificate can be declared as part of their program of study.

Students who do not wish to pursue a full master’s degree may instead choose to pursue a non-degree certificate program on its own. This program will result in the award of a graduate certificate on the student’s official transcript. Please note: when pursued independently of a full master’s degree program, this certificate program is not eligible for Title IV funding. Students taking this option will not be able to apply federal financial aid funds toward the completion of this certificate program.

Upon successful completion of the three Catholic Philanthropy courses, students will be able to:

  • Theology of Gift: demonstrate full knowledge of the “Theology of Gift” and how these principles affect modern philanthropy.
  • Fundraising and Best Practices and Faith Tradition: synthesize professional best practices with the Catholic Faith and develop processes and plans formed by values of self-gift and service.
  • CFRE Preparation: demonstrate preparation in all areas of CFRE test subject matter.
  • Professional Ability: demonstrate professional competence as a manager or senior mission advancement professional.
