CIS 300 - Database Design This course is an introduction to database systems design, implementation, and management. The course emphasizes database design with a focus on relational database systems. Students will build a typical database application with a relational Data Base Management System. Traditional data modeling techniques are introduced for use in analyzing and designing a database. Topics covered include data modeling, entity-relationship diagrams, normalization, relational algebra, SQL (Structured Query Language) for database querying, and database management systems (DBMS) fundamentals.
