ECI 351 - Structural Engineering with Lab This course covers structural analysis, as well as structural systems, structural materials, and application of design codes and standards. Structural analysis topics covered include reactions, shear and bending moment, plane and space trusses, influence lines, deflections, virtual work, energy methods, approximate analysis, consistent deformations method, slope deflection and moment distribution methods, introduction to matrix methods. Use of computer for analysis is introduced. Laboratory experiments examining deflections and behavior of structural systems, beams, columns, frames, trusses, and arches will be performed to supplement lecture material.
