EEL 324 - Data & Computer Communications Data & Computer Communications is a 3 credit course for Engineering and Computer Science Majors. This class will investigate an overview and historical perspective of telecommunications, as well as give an overview of the electronic components that are used in telecommunications. Analog and Digital signaling techniques will be investigated pertaining to both voice and data communications, along with Error Detection and Correction. The Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model describes seven layers that computer systems use to communicate over a network will be analyzed, along with core networking protocols; ethernet, internet and transport protocols (UDP/TCP). Tools such as Wireshark will be implemented to investigate networking protocols.
