HCB 570 - Case Studies & Applied Topics This course encourages students to apply what they learned in the prerequisite HCB 560 to complex ethical cases. The general topics studied include artificial reproductive technologies, embryonic research, conscience protections, and brain death; with frozen embryo rescue, CRISPR-Cas 9, three-parent embryos, the benefits and burdens associated with feeding tubes, and provocative measures to increase organ supply as specific cases. By the end of this course, students will be able to formulate an ethical solution to those cases and defend their position.
