KIN 316 - Basic Pharmacology for Human Performance Sciences

An introductory course designed for health science majors, content area is a collection of knowledge, skills and values that entry-level students must possess in pharmacologic applications, precautions, and interactions of medications. Content to be covered would include, but is not limited to pharmacologic applications, drug classifications, awareness of the indications, contraindications, precautions, and interactions of medications and of the governing regulations relevant to the treatment of injuries to and illnesses of athletes and others involved in physical activity. This course will also cover storage, dispensing and tracking information of pharmaceutical products, use of the Physician Desk Reference, and activation of poison control services. Enrollment limited to students who have been accepted into the departments of Human Performance Sciences and Education
