ATH 244 - Foundations in Athletic Training II The second of two clinical education courses designed to meet specific athletic training educational competencies for the healthcare providers of the physically active, the course expands on the knowledge gained in ATH 243 and introduces the domains of injury assessment, first aid and emergency care, pathology of injury and risk management and injury prevention. Therapeutic modalities, therapeutic exercise principles, along with general medical conditions affiliated with athletic training will also be addressed and continued to students in this course. Students in this course will begin to learn the basic methodologies of becoming successful evidence based healthcare professionals, associated with the foundations of athletic training practice.
