HIS 103 - Western Civilization in World History I


A survey of Western Civilization and its interactions with other civilizations from ancient times to AD 1500. This course initiates students into the study of history through primary and secondary sources and key concepts such as civilization, culture, and the causes of cultural change and exchange. It examines the deep roots of Western identity in the legacies of Jerusalem, Athens, Rome, and the barbarian peoples of Europe as they came together in the Christian culture of the medieval period.
