The Master of Arts in Applied Catholic Theology provides a robust understanding of the fullness of the Catholic faith, uniting its intellectual, liturgical, and apostolic dimensions into a coherent Catholic vision. Consisting of courses in Sacred Scripture, Marriage and Family, and Spiritual Direction, students will experience a rigorous, coherent plan of study providing the necessary intellectual, personal, and spiritual formation to communicate the Church’s magisterial teaching effectively to youth and adults alike in our contemporary age.

The Master of Arts in Applied Catholic Theology is ideal for directors of religious education (DREs), clergy, youth ministers, and volunteers involved in faith formation, as well as those looking for personal enrichment or exploring academic or ministerial doctoral programs.

The Master of Arts in Applied Catholic Theology consists of nine courses of three credits each, plus, a 5 credit capstone for a total of 32 graduate credits. The capstone will offer students the opportunity of either (A) completing a supervised integrative practicum in one’s current ministry assignment under the guidance of a dedicated, experienced mentor, or (B) a written thesis project.

Capstone: Choose One


Students will have the choice to complete the capstone as either a practicum or thesis for 5 additional credits, thus completing the MA requirements.
