OTH 750 - Anatomy/Kinesiology I The first course of a two-part sequence in Functional Anatomy and Kinesiology. Provides a detailed study of the science of human movement in the context of activity from a biomechanical, neuromuscular and anatomical perspectives. Covers bony landmarks and the musculoskeletal system of the human body underlying occupational therapy assessment and intervention with a focus on the abdomen, back and shoulder. Includes principles and methodology of posture, movement analysis, muscle strength testing, and joint range of motion testing. Also covers muscle palpation, manual muscle testing, range of motion, and motion analysis. Models will be used to facilitate understanding musculoskeletal anatomy and assessment and its relationship to occupational performance. The use of case stories will introduce biomechanical principles associated with occupational performance.
