CSD 790 - Advanced Clinical Externship This course is designed to provide graduate students in speech-language pathology advanced clinical off-campus experiences. Externships are designed to help students meet the American Speech-Language Hearing Association’s (ASHA) required number of client contact hours. Externship settings include, but are not limited to, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, private practice and early intervention programs.
To ensure that students acquire the skills necessary to graduate and be considered Clinical Fellowship (CF) ready, the Skills Outcomes from the 2020 Standards and Implementation Procedures for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology guide the clinical practicum experiences.
