NUR 620 - Care of Women and Children The course expands the knowledge of health assessment principles specific to the role of the FNP, with a focus on the healthcare needs of women, children, and families. Concepts or normal physiology and pathologic mechanisms of disease for women and pediatric populations are explored. A focus of the course is on the management of common episodic and chronic conditions, which promote and support the health of women and children through advanced practice interventions. Current theory and research on social issues, which have an impact on individuals, families, and communities, are incorporated into the course.
