NUR 562 - Pharmacology for Advanced Practice Focus includes the application of pharmacological agents (prescribed and over the counter) used to treat acute and chronic health problems of individuals of varying ages and cultural backgrounds within a variety of settings. Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles and current research form the foundation for discussion of selected drug groups. Emphasis is given to indications, mechanisms of action, dosages, adverse side effects, cost containment and client education.
