LIB 110 - The Educated Mind

In his final breaths before his execution, Socrates proclaimed one of the most famous truths that has echoed down through history, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” The educated mind is the mind that examines life to the full. It seeks to think about the beautiful unity of all that exists. It yearns for wisdom and reaches toward the most noble to find in humility its place in the cosmos. This seminar provides a forum in which students begin to encounter the examined life and the truly educated mind.
