BIO 311 - Genetics This course examines the fundamental principles of classical and molecular genetics. Topics covered include genes and their functions (DNA structure, transcription, translation), DNA and chromosome mutations, regulation of gene expression, principles of gene segregation analysis (Mendelian genetics, gene mapping, non-Mendelian inheritance), population genetics, quantitative genetics, and biotechnology.
