THE 490 - St. Thomas Aquinas, the Angelic Doctor This course explores St. Thomas Aquinas as Christian theologian, philosopher, teacher, and mystic. Focusing chiefly on his Summa Theologiae, the course explores the enduring legacy of his thought in the history of theology, including his synthesis of faith and reason, his appropriation of philosophy, his construction of a coherent theology of God, creation and anthropology, and his account of a graced return of the creature to the Creator through the person and work of Christ, mediated by the Church’s sacraments.
