COU 640 - Clinical Mental Health Counseling Clinical Mental Health Counseling will review the history of community counseling, with a focus on those events that led to the development of a “community point of view.” The course will acquaint students with the various approaches (preventative model, consultative role, etc.) and techniques (needs assessment, program evaluation) used by clinical mental health counselors. Distinctions between traditional clinical interventions and community interventions will be highlighted.
